Ireland, July 2010

I didnt' take enough pictures in Ireland this year.

This is Lough Ree, in County Athlone, it's a lake off the river Shannon. We had dinner at the Wine Port Lodge, right on the water. It was beautiful.

The skies above St. Kevin's Bed, Glendelough, County Wicklow.

Mom and I at the Upper Lake, Glendelough. Our grandmother on our mother's side, her family, the Hatton's, are from County Wicklow.

Ireland is a land of quiet, enchanted woods. No, really, it's a special place.

Istanbul, Topkapi and the Bosphorus

Bob and I on one of the balconies on Topkapi Palace overlooking the Bosphorus.

This was such a beautiful, relaxing room decorated with the traditional white and blue tile of the Ottoman Empire. Since it was the Circumcision Room, you would hope it would be relaxing.

Asia on the left, Europe on the right. Looking south on the Bosphorus as we headed by ferry up towards the Black Sea.

Amazingly lavish Imperial Hall in the Harem at Topkapi where the Sultan would greet honored guests.

Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.
